Papercuts

December 9, 2008

I found an incredible post here. And, while I’ll admit that it’s off topic (of late I’ve been especially happy with the blog activities as I feel we’ve discovered a natural focus of literary interests (in particular) with some art commentary and review). Nevertheless, I decided to post it anyway, since the images included are so beautiful, and the day of the dead an idea rich with creative possibility. If/when you get the chance, you should check it out. There is a great description of the significance of Papel Picado, and the banners made for the occasion. Special thanks to biblioodyssey for putting together such a great collection of visual works.

(I should have been a goth kid. If only I didn’t like so much color it might be an easy transition.)
