Hello, Friends!

April 10, 2008

My name is Alcide Bava and I will be updating this page from time to time. Although I will be doing most of the posting here, you’ll probably find something from everyone else on the Green Lantern staff, too. Caroline Picard is the director of the press. Say hi, Caroline!

Caroline: Hi!

Lily Robert-Foley is the assistant editor. If you see any book reviews, they’re probably written by Lily. Say hi, Lily!

Lily: Hi, Lily!

Stop that. Nick Sarno is the senior editor. Say hi, Nick!

Nick: …

Be nice!

Nick: Fine. Hello.

First of all, you may have noticed that the link that lead you here was “Blog Thing*”. Believe it or not, we weren’t trying to seem too cool for school. We just called it that because we couldn’t think of a better title. It was there to serve as a placeholder. The asterisk was there to accentuate its placeholderness.

We probably just could have called it a blog, but most of what you find here will be news about the press, information on upcoming events, release dates and previews–that sort of thing. You know, news about the press. And yes, we could have just called it the news page too, but the aforementioned book reviews, the possible links to stuff we find interesting and the occasional rant seem too, well, bloggy to be called news.

I believe, some time back in December, someone suggested calling it “Blews,” but we didn’t think the world was ready for that yet.

We all spent the past seven months sitting at a table, in a windowless room, trying to think of a good name for this page. Eventually, we knew we had to get on with our lives. So here we are.

At the Blog Thing*.

For now, let this be a little introduction, or an extension of the introduction posted way, way back in October. From here on in, I promise you won’t have to wait an autumn and a winter to get a little news out of us.
